SOROTI FRUITS LIMITED (SOFTE) is a fruit processing factory. The company produces ready to drink fruit juice as well as concentrates from Ugandan grown fruits notably Oranges and Mangoes. SOFTE invites applications from suitably qualified candidates to fill the vacant position below;

Job Title: Sales & Distribution Drivers

Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports To: Regional Sales & Marketing Manager

Duty Station: Any part of the Uganda

Purpose of the Job:

To ensure timely delivery of products to customers while supporting sales activities, maintaining vehicle safety, and enhancing customer satisfaction.

Job Summary:

The Sales & Distribution Drivers responsible for transporting goods to customers, assisting in sales and collections, ensuring accurate deliveries, and maintaining proper vehicle and delivery records.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Deliver products to customers according to assigned routes and schedules.
• Verify load accuracy before departure (quantity, type, and condition).
• Ensure safe handling, loading, and offloading of goods.
• Obtain proof of delivery (signed invoices, delivery notes).
• Ensure timely and efficient deliveries.
• Support the sales team in identifying potential customers along delivery routes.
• Promote company products to retailers and distributors.
• Upsell and cross-sell products where possible.
• Communicate customer needs, feedback, and market trends to the sales team.
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections (fuel, oil, brakes, tires, lights).
• Maintain cleanliness and good condition of the vehicle.
• Report mechanical faults and arrange for servicing/repairs.
• Ensure compliance with traffic laws and company transport policies.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and route logs.
• Ensure proper handling of invoices, delivery notes, and receipts.
• Account for all stock loaded and delivered.
• Submit daily/weekly distribution and sales reports.
• Collect payments from customers and issue receipts.
• Safeguard cash and remit it promptly as per company policy.
• Maintain professional relationships with customers.
• Handle customer complaints and escalate when necessary.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• On-time delivery rate (%).
• Accuracy of deliveries (zero shortages/damages).
• Number of deliveries completed per day/week.
• Fuel efficiency and vehicle maintenance compliance.
• Number of new customers identified or supported.
• Cash accountability (no variances).
• Customer satisfaction levels.
• And any other duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Qualification & Experience:

• Diploma in any business-related course from a recognized Institution.
• Valid driving permit (Class B, CM, & DL and a clean driving record).
• At least 3 years of driving experience in distribution or logistics.
• Defensive driving certificate is an added advantage.
• Experience in FMCG or factory distribution is an added advantage.
